These Mazari plants are a mixture of indica and sativa phenotypes, like many Afghan and Pakistani landraces, mostly very wide, broad-leaved plants that grow to a height of 100 – 400cm. tall but with some thin-leaved phenos. Known locally by farmers as ‘Mazari’, ‘Balkhi’, and ‘Mazar-i-Sharif’, the resin from these plants makes what has been called the finest old-school hashish known as ‘Shirak-i-Mazar’ (‘Milk of Mazar’).
